Our CALA accredited environmental laboratory in Markham is designed to deliver accurate and traceable analytical results across a wide range of environmental parameters. We employ rigorous quality control systems and advanced analytical technologies to ensure the reliability of every result.

OUR LABORATORY CAPABILITIES INCLUDE:

Asbestos testing in materials and air: They test for asbestos in building material samples and airborne fibres.

Water (groundwater) analysis: Testing for metals, VOCs, petroleum hydrocarbons (PHCs), PAHs, and other chemical contaminants.
Earth/soil/material analysis: Testing of soil, sediments, and building materials for pH, moisture, particle distribution, organic and inorganic contaminants.
Specialty analysis: Includes testing related to forensic-type environments, such as former illicit drug operations.
Environmental laboratory analysis focuses on identifying substances that may pose environmental or regulatory concerns. These assessments typically measure the following:
  • Contaminant levels: Detection of hydrocarbons, heavy metals, or other substances in soil and groundwater.
  • Groundwater chemistry: Analysis of dissolved elements and compounds present in groundwater samples.

You can drop samples off at our Markham lab during lab hours, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. After hours, use the drop box at the front door. All asbestos analysis is done in-house.

What is the difference between geotechnical and environmental lab testing?

Geotechnical testing measures how soil behaves: grain size, moisture, compaction. Environmental testing measures what is in it: metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, solvents. Fisher runs both labs in Markham. More on the difference.
